Original use
A modern dress lace was designed and manufactured specifically for the competition “Slovene fashion designers for Miss Slovenia 2006 - Iris Mulej”. The depicted carnation flower, according to the author, symbolises love, power, youth, joy and wealth. It also symbolises memory and commitment, home and homeland. It is soft, it has very feminine energy – and is both, maternal and fatal, at the same time.
Present use
The described modern lace is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is physical evidence of the centuries-old bobbin lace tradition and knowledge of bobbin lace making in Idrija. It is a part of the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum. It can be used for temporary museum exhibitions or for other types of promotions.
