Description
Short description
The blouse has bobbin lace sewn in the chest area. It has long sleeves with ruffles and a collar. It buttons up at the back with ten fabricated buttons. Elements and techniques of bobbin lacemaking used: Flanders stitch with blind pins and outer pins along the outer edge, designing of a flower motif in a technique of a cloth stitch with inner pins.

Original use
The blouse was used as an item of women’s clothing, which was only worn for special occasions. It is from family legacy of Sonja Koder. According to her testimony, the blouse was owned by her relative Angela Šinkovec, who was not married and worked in a shoe shop called “Pr Majnc” in Idrija.
Present use
The described object is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is physical evidence of the centuries-old bobbin lace tradition and knowledge of bobbin lace making in Idrija. It is a part of the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum. More similar patterns preserved in the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum can be used for other types of promotion.
