Short description
Regarding the method of lacemaking, this is a completed type of bobbin tape lace. Regarding the typology, this is a tape lace with subsequently made fillings. Elements and techniques of bobbin lacemaking used: narrow tape; filling: plaited net.

Original use
The described object is used an independent (standalone) product (female collar). Similarly as with the described object, the Idrija Municipal Museum received most of the older lace at the of the 1950s. During that time, the trade company Čipka (1957–1999) took over the business of the previously operating Lace Cooperative. The aforementioned lace supposedly belonged to the previously operating Franc Lapajne company (1875‒1945).
Present use
The described lace is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is physical evidence of the centuries-old bobbin lace tradition and knowledge of bobbin lace making in Idrija. It is a part of the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum. In 2013, the described lace was used at the reception of Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia Holy See, it was used in 2014 in the Carsic House in Repen and in the Parenzana Museum in Izola within the exhibition “Idrija Lace - timeless bobbin lace masterpiece”. More similar patterns preserved in the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum can be used for other types of promotion.

History of conservation:
The lace was conserved in 2005. Therefore, no additional interventions are necessary. Security of the premises is taken care of.
