Short description
In accordance with the basic method of manufacturing, the described tablecloth can be characterised as non-continuous lace. It is a completed tape lace. Elements and techniques of bobbin lacemaking used: flowers in cloth stitch, leaves in half stitch with raised crochet, separated cloth stitch, plaited honeycomb, narrow stitch, cloth stitch with inner pins.

Original use
The tablecloth, a 12 person setting, was ordered from the company Čipka Idrija by the Slovenian protocol. It was intended as a gift for Marshal Tito’s wife, Jovanka Broz. The pattern for the tablecloth was designed by Zorka Rupnik. It was made in less that six months by 15–20 lacemakers, who invested approximately 5,000 hours of work in it. Three lacemakers then sewed the bobbin lace pieces together. Due to political reasons, the tablecloth was never handed to Jovanka Broz for permanent possession. In addition to the described tablecloth, the set also includes 24 cloth napkins with bobbin lace. Of those, 12 are 30 × 30 cm in size and 12 are 25 × 25 cm in size.
Present use
The described tablecloth is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is physical evidence of the centuries-old bobbin lace tradition and knowledge of bobbin lace making in Idrija. It is a part of the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum. Visitors can view it within the permanent museum exhibition Idrija Lace, History Written in Thread, which tells the story of the handmade, Idrija bobbin lace. More similar patterns preserved in the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum can be used for other types of promotion.
