Short description
The tracing paper is yellow with a purple pattern line. This is an example of a pattern for a part of bobbing lace edge of a non-continuous tape lace, namely with a motif in narrow tape, which was transformed from an older lacemaking technique in broad tape and is known under the domestic name “križčevke” (crosses).

Original use
From the painted tracing paper, the lacemakers could see which techniques were intended for the lacemaking. A great part of the credit for Idrija lace development in the 20th century can be attributed to Zorka Rupnik (1905–1989), who was born in Idrija. After 1920, she designed patterns for domestic retailers and different clients. In 1950, she became employed as the main pattern designer in the Idrija Lace Cooperative (1946–1956) and continued her work in the company Čipka Idrija (1957–1989). Her patterns are recognised for their elegance in the line realisation, symmetry, harmony and inserts in different bobbin lacemaking techniques.
Present use
The tracing paper is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is physical evidence of the centuries-old bobbin lace tradition and knowledge of bobbin lace making in Idrija. It is a part of the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum. The greater part of the rich heritage of Zorke Rupnik, with a total of more than 2,737 lace patterns, which testifies to the development of Idrija lace after 1920, is kept in the museum within this collection. Her patterns are still highly appreciated by lacemakers, who love using them while making bobbin lace. The described tracing paper is digitalised and available for external users. More similar patterns preserved in the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum can be used for other types of promotion.
