Description
Short description
The bobbin is a profiled formed wooden stick, with thread wound on it. The lower part of the bobbin is slightly wider, so that the bobbins touch each other on the pillow. The middle part is thinner. The upper part of a bobbin is wound with thread, which is protected by a conical cap on top.

Length 13.5 cm, width 1.5 cm, height 1.5 cm.

Original use
The described pair of bobbins was used as one of the accessories in Idrija bobbin lace production. It was used by Marija Bremec, married name Kerševan (1913–2009) from Idrija.
Present use
The bobbin pair is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is a part of the lace collection of Idrija Municipal Museum. More similar bobbin pairs preserved in the lace collection of the Idrija Municipal Museum can be used for other types of promotion.

STATE OF CONSERVATION
History of conservation:
The lower part of the bobbins has holes, since during the time of their use, they were mounted into the bobbin lace winder for thread winding. Additional interventions are not necessary. Security of the premises is taken care of.
