Original use
Franjo Kordiš dedicated his life to the forestry profession, especially to sustainable forest management. The greatest meaning of his work was the realisation of the theory on nature protection agriculture and forest management in practice in a modern way. This helped him connect the economy and nature protection. His professional work and a good understanding of ecology and biological processes were generally the basis for deeper study of life phenomena and forest development, and for the environment it represented the enriching of traditional forestry. The author represents a part of his life work and inter alia focuses on bioecological characteristics of the forests of Idrija, forest management, timber floating and wood consumption for the needs of Idrija Mine, hunting and fishing etc.
Present use
The book is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is kept in the collection of library material (in analogue and digital form) and is available for borrowing.
