The book Über die Lagerstättenverhältnisse der Bergbaugebietes Idria has hardback, green covers and 52 pages. In addition, it also contains 28 geological maps with the cross sections of Idrija ore deposit.

Towards the end of the 19th century, the age and formation of the Idrija ore deposit, cinnabar ore and minerals and also the geology of Idrija surrounding were studied by several Austrian and Czech geologists and other researchers. One of the fundamental works for understanding the Idrija ore deposit structure was contributed by the Czech mining expert and geologist Joseph Kropáč. Up to 1957, all the miners used his excellent guide for finding rich mineralised areas in the pit. Kropač was one of the first to note that Idrija Mercury Mine has a rich geological collection thanks to Marko Vincenc Lipold, the mining manager. The mining field in the mine (on the level I/17 and I/20) and one of the blind shafts were named after him. The Kropač mining field was known as the spot of the discovery of very richly mineralised cinnabar ore.

The book is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is kept in the collection of library material (in analogue and digital form). The book is available for borrowing.
