Original use
The most common distinctive motifs of the academic painter Rafael Trpin’s works are the Idrija miner's houses and also his view of the city’s changing appearance. With his artistic-documentary works, he presents the changing appearance of Idrija and mining objects, in recent and distant history, based on archival sources and photographs. The described collection includes graphic sheets, which serve as the base for linocut making (56 altogether), which were published in a book by the author (2001). The time span of mining heritage of the city in his linocut works extends between the years 1875 and 1960. The described collection also includes some originals from the author’s extensive opus of drawings of Idrija houses (total of 323 houses on 423 drawings). It was drawn between 1987 and 2009, and then also published in a book in a miniature version (2011).
