Short description
The medium-sized dining table is lye brown. It has four square legs, which are narrowed and curved outwards at the bottom. Between the legs on top, there are bound planks, and another batten on the sides at the side for securing the table. The table also has a drawer.

Original use
It was typical for the Idrija Miner's House to have a specific placement of the furniture. The dining table was usually placed in the other half of the living space (“hiša” – house) opposite the door, but sometimes it was placed against the wall. During the meal they brought a chair to the table, which was usually placed at the fireplace, behind the entrance doors to the “house” and served as a visitor’s seat. In a residential block (“prhavzu”) the mining families had a partly different inventory. The dining table was positioned in the kitchen with a built stove, which was connected with the living area. The table was usually at the window.
Present use
The dining table is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is a part of the ethnological collection of Idrija Municipal Museum. Visitors can view it within the permanent museum display exhibition in the Idrija Miner's House. It can also be used for different types of mercury heritage promotions. The items displayed in the Idrija Miner’s House take the visitors to the lives and residential code of mining families in Idrija in housing from the first half of the 20th century.

STATE OF CONSERVATION
History of conservation:
It was restored for the purpose of the museum exhibition in 2002. Therefore, no additional interventions are necessary. Security of the premises is taken care of.
