A sledgehammer is a heavy hammer, which has a steel tup on a beechwood handle. The tup is rectangular and flattened on one side and with a pointed edge on the other side.

It is a part of the ethnological collection of Idrija Municipal Museum. It is located in the depot and can be used for temporary museum exhibitions. It can also be used for different types of mercury heritage promotions.
