Short description
The chute consist of steel diagonal sides, sliding bottom part and a level for opening the chute. The lever consists of a longer pipe and curved metal, which serves as a barrier.

Original use
The chutes were used for pouring ore from the blind shafts to the pit carts. The blind shaft was divided into the walking section and the chute. On the top, the chute was secured with the iron net, where the ore or filling material was poured into the depth of lower Main levels. In the lower parts of the blind shafts, chutes were built. Their construction was one of the most complex carpentry works. By moving the lever, the path was released and ore or filling material slid onto the pit carts. When enough ore was poured, the miner moved the lever in the opposite direction and the chute was closed. Then they transported the ore from the blind shafts to the main assembly shaft. The ore was then exported to the surface. During the time of closing the works, the chute served for pouring the filling material.
Present use
The chute is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. It is a part of the CUDHg mining collection. Visitors can view it within the permanent museum display Anthony's Main Road on the level I/17 of the Kropáč mining field. It is a part of the presentation that represents the entire story of mining in the Idrija Mercury Mine and with that related work process and transport.

History of conservation:
The object is well preserved. It was restored for the purpose of the museum display. Additional interventions are not necessary. Security of the premises is ensured.
