Short description
The hoe-like tool has a long curved handle, which ends at the bottom in a rectangular shape. A triangular nozzle for collecting was mounted on that part.

Original use
With a slightly bigger hoe – “krutca”, the ore or tailings were collected in the iron, trough-like vessels (“trigl”), which was used for lifting and filling the carts.
Present use
The described object is being preserved, secured and presented as an important monument of Idrija mining heritage with exceptional universal values. Visitors can view it within the permanent exhibition of the Idrija Municipal Museum “Five Centuries of the Mercury Mine and the Town of Idrija”. It can also be used for different types of mercury heritage promotions.

History of conservation:
The described object was conserved before 1995, during the time of preparations for the permanent museum exhibition. Therefore, no additional interventions are necessary. Security of the premises is ensured.
