Short description
The declines are diagonal tunnels that connect different levels or levels and had very different inclinations. The first part of the decline is equipped with wooden staircase, fence and a slide for lowering wood or other material. The ceiling of the staircase is lined with wooden boards, due to the danger of rock falls. The angle of the decline is approximately 30°.

Original use
The declines are diagonal tunnels (on different angles), whose purpose was to connect the levels and even Main levels, for miners’ passage and delivery/transport of various materials. The declines served various purposes. Some of the declines were equipped with a wooden staircase and a slide for wood transport, others served as a passage for people to enter the deeper parts of the pit and were equipped with stairs. In the later period, the gradual declines were equipped with rails and winches, which were set at the top end of the decline for lowering and raising the material.
Present use
The decline I/20–I/19 is being preserved, secured and presented as important mining heritage of Idrija with exceptional universal values. Visitors can view it within the permanent museum display Anthony's Main Road. It is equipped with stairs and a part for material, with the display on how to lower the wood on the decline.

STATE OF CONSERVATION
History of conservation:
The decline from the level I/20 to I/19 was rebuilt and equipped with stairs in 1995. It is well preserved and maintained. Security of the premises is taken care of.
