Original use
Gröden rocks are relatively rare in the Idrija ore deposit. The represented rocks are mostly grey and only on some places red. Usually the colourful flint conglomerate (gravel-stone over 2 mm) and sandstone is observed. The transition between flint conglomerate with sand binder and gravel sandstone is observed in the described sample. These types of rocks were formed in extensive river systems. Gröden rocks are rarely mineralised in the Idrija ore deposit.
