"In the year 1580, Philip II granted Almadén the permission to build a chapel dedicated to Saint Anna, its patron saint, on the outskirts of the town.
In the 18th century, it was remodelled and received the Santísimo Cristo of Fuensanta, a name that according to popular tradition comes from of a rock in the shape of the head of Christ next to a nearby fountain.
It was blessed in October 1784, in the presence of the superintendent José Agustín Castaño.
It is currently dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima.
