Description

Short description
"It is a rectangular shaft with a cross-section of 3.0m × 1.6m, located at the bottom of the Castillo mine, with a depth of approximately 87 metres – up to 100 if the bottom part of the shaft is included.
This shaft is not lined and it is excavated through quartzite and slate. In some areas the rock has caved in. Landings have been installed along the shaft for the use of metal ladders.
It was used primarily for drainage and ore extraction from the Castillo mine during the 18th century.
Its first two landings have been renovated.
