Short description
"This tunnel, which has been recently restored, is approximately 700 metres long, has a cross-section 1.75 high × 1.05 wide and is completely covered with masonry. It linked the old Almadén prison with the first floor of the Castillo mine and served as access for prisoners who used to carry out the most arduous jobs such as draining with zacas and pulling minecarts.
Currently, the stretch is accessible up to the Bus Station; after that, it is hindered by a collapse in the area where a sewer passes by.
