Description
Short description
"This hearth, 24.25 metres high and with a floor area of 12.9×14.5, is made of brick and is the only thing that remains of some continuous production furnaces (Čermak-Špirek) that were installed in 1906 and were used to treat mineral of fine size called ""bacisco"".
They consisted of a mobile grill and, in order that there were no jams inside the furnace, there were several rows of vertical and horizontal bricks.
The heat was supplied from below, fire was distributed throughout the mineral and steam left upwards. These were simple furnaces, but with good use of heat and low maintenance.
