"In the experiment you can see mercury inside a glass tube. At each end of the tube, there are two electrodes of an electrical circuit (we must press the button to tilt the tube).
What has happened? The mercury closes the circuit by conducting the electric current between the two electrodes, which is why the bulb lights up and the system that changes the inclination of the tube is activated. Mercury is capable of conducting electrical current as efficiently as gold, platinum or aluminium, which are all excellent electrical conductors."
