Short description
"The quicksilver produced in Almadén was taken to Seville for shipment to America.
The caravans of ox carts, numbering several hundred each year, left in April and their journey sometimes lasted a month and a half. In summer, due to lack of pasture, transportation was done with mules.
Mercury was packaged in large leather bags called buckets, which contained four arrobas (46kg), with ten buckets in each car."
