"The showcase is composed of the following elements:
1. Depiction of the manufacture of medical preparations in the Arab era
2. Explanation: After the fall of the Roman Empire and before the arrival of the Arabs to the Peninsula, there are no reports on the exploitation of the Almadén mines.
The Arabs handled mining to perfection, and upon arrival they restarted the exploitation and introduced the first documented metallurgical system: the xabeca (jabeca) furnace.
During this period, the uses of quicksilver (mercury) were very diverse: from its therapeutic use in medicinal preparations to its application in the development of alchemy. In addition, its silver color and metallic shine made it very attractive for the decoration of the luxurious palaces of the caliphate.
