"The showcase is made up of three elements:
1. Image: Manufacture of mercury derivatives in the MAYASA laboratories
2. Explanation: During the 1970s, the mercury trade got into a crisis, this decline was caused by various poisonings caused by the misuse of some mercury derivatives in countries such as Japan and Iraq.
To deal with this crisis, the company Minas de Almadén y Arrayanes, S.A., began to manufacture triple-distilled mercury and various mercury compounds, such as yellow oxide, red oxide, mercurous chloride or mercuric chloride.
On the other hand, Minas de Almadén became a consulting company for geology, remote sensing, chemical and environmental analysis. Gone is the exploitation of the mine and the distillation furnaces, which last saw cinnabar in July 2003.
